The fees are FJ$5000 for the Pre sea induction course.
Pacific Maritime Institute (PMI) is committed to making maritime training accessible to aspiring seafarers. We assist cadets in exploring a range of funding options to help cover their college training fees:
1. Self-Funding:
Cadets and their families may choose to pay fees independently.
2. Government Scholarships and Loans:
PMI supports eligible Fijian students in applying for Tertiary Scholarships and Loans Service (TSLS) and other government education grants or bursaries.
3. Corporate Sponsorships:
PMI collaborates with local and international shipping companies to secure sponsorships for high-performing cadets, often linked to job placements after training.
4. Community and NGO Support:
PMI provides guidance in applying for funding from NGOs, church groups, community organizations, and charitable trusts that support youth education and training.
5. Educational Loan Schemes from Financial Institutions:
PMI can assist cadets in preparing documentation to apply for student loans from recognized banks and credit institutions.
Our dedicated support team at PMI will guide each cadet through the funding process—offering help with forms, references, and contacts—to ensure no deserving candidate is left behind due to financial constraints.
